“There is no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing” – Alfred Wainwright.
Summer. Autumn. Winter. Spring. There is so much in each season for children to observe and experience.
So here we begin.

Hello everyone. I would like to introduce myself (L), my husband (G) and our little girl (P). We live near the South coast of the UK with our cat and dog and are currently on a journey to possibly home-educate.
With a background in education, I am deeply passionate about the role of the outdoors with learning and the use of the seasons to focus themes and interests. I believe children should be trusted with their learning and given the correct experiences to further their own interests. Observing the child is crucial.
I have started this blog to share:
- Our life and our journey towards possibly home-educating.
- Activity ideas and book recommendations.
- Information on why certain activities are chosen for us and the Educational Philosophy behind it. (I feel a lot of the different approaches to learning work in unison and so we follow mainly Montessori and Waldorf approaches at home).
I am hoping in the future to share more detailed plans and resources for home-educators with a seasonal / outdoors focus.
Please leave a comment or get in touch if there is anything you would like to see / know more about!
